Retro Holiday Home Reno – Hunter Valley NSW

My very handy husband and I are renovating and decorating a Retro Holiday Home in the Hunter Valley NSW with the intention of holiday letting it for guests.

I was quite surprised to find very few retro Holiday Homes available in Australia. Well, OK, I have found a couple of retro beach houses and a couple of 1950s vintage cottages.. but not many, and considering the great wave of renewed interest in all things retro, I was disappointed.

So I did some research and decided to set one up a Holiday Rental in the Cessnock area of the Hunter Valley because there is so much to see and do there.

We found a house that was built in 1981 and has some great 1970s and mid-century details, like raked ceilings, skylights, an arched doorway and slate floor in the entry.

It is a large house that we could renovate to have 5 bedrooms and 3 living areas, so it is perfectly suited for family or friend groups to holiday in together.
