Hornsea Saffron Milk Sugar Lidded Bowl and Jug England 1970s designed by John Clappison.

The backstamp is the one used in the 1970s.

The pieces are made of glazed white clay.

There is no damage. They are in excellent condition.

Jug Size: 9cm tall x 8cm diameter and 13cm, from spout to handle

Sugar Pot Size: 8.5cm tall x 8cm in diameter

Total Weight: 480g

The Saffron Range was produced from about 1970-1992.

The Hornsea Pottery operated in England from 1949-2000.  It was established by brothers Desmond and Coin Rawlinson.

John Clappison (1937-2013) was a designer at the Hornsea Pottery in England, Ravenhead Glass England and Royal Doulton.

He designed for Hornsea from the 1950s through to the 1980s.  Whilst at the Hornsea Pottery he designed the Elegance range in 1955, the Heirloom Range in 1967, the Saffron Range in 1970 and Bronte Ranges in the 1970s.

He also designed for Ravenhead Glass and after 1984 at Royal Doulton.
