Bakewells Pottery operated as Bakewell Brothers Ltd in Sydney from 1884-1955. They produced a large range of domestic and decorative pottery.
Their domestic pottery included a significant volume of kitchen pottery including striped and plain bowls and jugs that were used in earnest in most homes in Australia from the 1930s. Complementary to these were sets of canisters, electric jugs and the odd teapot. These high utility items appear to be consistently labelled MADE BY BAKEWELLS, SYDNEY N.S.W.
